Alpe d’Huez, made famous as a Tour de France stage finish, is a vast area of high, sunny bowls with over 2,000m of vertical possible. The resort is mostly purpose built although there are some more traditional areas. Evenings are livelier than in many other French resorts.

The resort combines something for everyone with many long runs including cruising blues and reds as well as the longest pisted black run in the Alps at 16km. Lack of tree cover means the resort gets plenty of sun but can be exposed in poor weather.
