Chamonix Area Piste Maps: http://www.chamonix.com/

Chamonix is a mountain town in a steep and often shaded valley at the foot of Mont Blanc. The area is made up of several satellite areas on the same lift pass but not lift linked so be prepared to transfer to each area. There are however plenty of places to eat and drink in the town.

Whilst there are plenty of runs for intermediates, Chamonix gains cult status for it’s challenging terrain for experts, both on and off piste. Most famous of these is the Vallée Blanche – a 24km guided (obligatory) itinerary from the top of Aiguille du Midi back to town – snow permitting.
