Davos may be associated with economic summits but with a ski area covering six mountains this is the real business. Large and sprawling, it is one of the highest towns in Europe at 1,550m and comes with plenty going on in the evenings. More picturesque is neighbouring Klosters.

The pistes are aimed at distance intermediates and experts with extensive off piste opportunities available. There are many long runs down to the valley which are good for cruising and the lift network is fast and efficient once you have worked out the piste map.
