Kitzbühel is famous for its fearsome Hahnenkamm downhill race and as a base is a lively and attractive town with vibrant nightlife from après ski time until late. The area has invested heavily in lift upgrades and now has a very modern and fast network.

Despite its most famous run, the area is largely intermediate territory with some long distances possible over varying terrain. Lower down there are tree lined runs back to the town and there is extensive snow making to cover these low level slopes.
